Born in Village of Belwood, Wellington County, ON, July 6, 1865.

Received his early education at Belwood.

Apprenticed to a local harness maker and then acquired his own business in Grand Valley, ON. Moved west and became proprietor of a general store in Fielding, SK in 1906.

Moved to Saskatoon in 1913 and carried on a successful retail harness business.

Married Miss Jessie M. Hay. Two sons; two daughters.

Initiated into Scott Lodge No. 421, GRC, Dufferin County, ON. WM 1904. Affiliated with Imperial Lodge No. 60, GRS, 1911.

DDGM, District No. 5, GLS, 1924. GM 1931-32.

Died at Saskatoon, Sunday, September 28, 1947 at 83 years of age.
