Member of the RCMP, 1957–63.

Joined Saskatoon Fire Department, 1965, retiring as Captain in 1999.

Married Vivian Reimer, April 16, 1957. One son, Kevin; three daughters, Sandra, Kathie, and Teresa; and seven grandchildren.

Initiated into Plantagenet Lodge No. 65, GRBC, in 1963. Affiliated with Victory Lodge No. 144, GRS, 1978. WM 1992 & 1993. Affiliated with Lodge Progress No. 92, GRS, 1996. WM 1998. Honourary Member of Rostern-Duck Lake Lodge No. 13, GRS. Member of many concordant Masonic bodies.
