Born September 21, 1901 at Bad Axe, MI (USA) and moved with his parents to Regina, SK in 1908 where he completed his early education.

Attended Queens University, Kingston, ON and the University of Manitoba, graduating with BA and MEd Degrees and commenced his career as a teacher and school principal.

Married Stella Swansea Ritchie of Regina in 1922 (she died in 1967). Two sons, Ted and Richard (Dick); three grandchildren.

Married Lois Margaret Wilson in 1972.

Initiated into Sharon Lodge No. 170, GRS at Bateman, SK in 1927. Affiliated with Melfort Lodge No. 18, GRS, 1929, where he served as WM. Affiliated with Assiniboia Lodge No. 49, GRS, Regina.

DDGM, District No. 2, GLS, 1959. GM 1963–64.

Buried at Regina, Friday, February 20, 1976 with Masonic Rites.
