James McCauley

Grand Master, 1917–18

Born October 25, 1870, at Ingersoll, ON.

Came west in 1886 and worked for the construction department of CPR at Donald, B.C.

Moved to Moose Jaw, SK, in 1889.

Opened jewelry business, 1891.

Entered service of the CPR as a brakeman in 1892 and later as conductor, retiring in 1935.

Married Cynthia Colenutt, 1895 (she died in February 1937). Three sons; one daughter.

Then married Mary Bedford on Moose Jaw in 1938.

Initiated into Moose Jaw Lodge No. 26, GRM (now No. 3, GRS), May 9, 1899. WM 1906.

DDGM, District No. 3, GLS, 1913–14. GM 1917–18.

Died April 20, 1946, at 76 years of age.
